The Positive Activities Group (PAG) was set up over 3 years ago as a steering group for the Happenin’ Project and Positive Programmes. The group is made up of various organisations who work with or offer services to children and young people. We are always willing to invite any new or old groups that feel they can contribute to the group. The idea behind the group is;
1. To hold regular meetings to share information, good practice and any news concerning children and young people in the Corby Borough.
2. Networking on events, activities or people. 3. To act as a source of information for young people on things to do or to access. 4. To help provide a co-ordinated approach to young people s activities in the Borough 5. To act as an information point for parents, carers and organisations wishing to find out information regarding activities or services for children and young people. 6. To recognise the positive achievements of children and young people in the Corby.
PAG wants to
1. Get the right children and young people involved in what is right for them 2. Share information and celebrate the achievements of children and young people. 3. Form a strategic approach to formulate groups with an influence in shaping of activities. 4. Be a central voice for groups and organisations working with young people and to feed up to other groups and organisations that are strategic. 5. Reach the most disaffected young people by 1:1, small group work, outreach work, co-ordinate, promote and provide opportunities for young people. 6. Have a single, co-ordinated approach to the delivery of activities for young people.
There are several agencies that are present on the group including:
1. Corby Borough Council 2. Positive Programmes 3. Connexions 4. Community Safety Team, including Neighbourhood Wardens 5. Northamptonshire Association of Youth Clubs 6. Northamptonshire Voluntary Youth Action 7. Local Primary Care Trust 8. Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service 9. Adrenaline Alley 10. Service 6 11. Play England
We aim to offer a co-ordinated approach to provide positive activities that take place in the Borough for any young person aged 5 – 19 to take part in.
If you feel you can contribute to this group then please contact Kevin Williams on (01536) 464188
